Who can consign?

Anyone can consign their items and everyone is welcome! Consigning items with Rhea Lana’s offers you the ability earn more than what a consignment store can offer, it’s less work than conducting your own garage sale and a hassle/haggle free way from selling items online.

How do I get started?

It’s easy! Simply register to consign on our website. Be sure to thoroughly read the Acceptable Items, Merchandise Prep, and Pricing Guide tabs.

What percentage do I make?

Consignors earn 60 - 70% of their sales.

What is the consignor fee?

The consignor fee is automatically deducted from your proceeds.

How can I maximize my consignor experience?

Consignors enjoy the experience when they allow themselves enough time to get all their items prepared and entered without feeling rushed. Organizing your items by gender and size will allow for easy entering and a quick drop off. Using our Voice Entry feature is a HUGE time saver for consignors as it allows you to enter 100 items in just 30 minutes. Consider printing your barcode labels at home to expedite consignor drop off.

When is the consignor deadline?

Please visit our Consignor Schedule to view the consignor deadline.

Where can I find string tags?

Wal-Mart, office supply stores, and the Rhea Lana store

Where do I drop off my items?

You will drop your items off at the event location during the designated Drop Off days/times.

How should I price my items?

We recommend pricing your items at 25-30%. Our Pricing Guide goes into more detail.

Do I use my same Consignor ID every event?

Yes, the Consignor ID you received when you registered is yours to use in each sale! The only time you would need to register for a new consignor ID is if you 1) have exceeded the item entry limit for your current ID and would like to sell more items, or 2) would like to participate with another Rhea Lana's franchise.

What hangers do I use?

We require plastic hangers for all items. We care about your items and plastic hangers ensure your items are protected and look great on the rack. Retail plastic hangers are acceptable!

Do I get my hangers back?

Your hangers stay on the items and go home with the shopper. However, any items you purchase will include the hanger. If this is your first time consigning we suggest marking your items 25-50 cents higher to help re-coop your initial investment.

What if my item is not worth the minimum?

You’ll need to bundle items to reach the required minimum.

How long does drop off take?

We typically recommend to allow one hour per one hundred items for Consignor Drop Off.

What is Voice Recognition Item Entry?

The Voice Item Entry allows you to enter your items by voice description with a mobile device. It’s a game changer for consignors as they can enter 100 items in as little as 30 minutes.

Can I see which items have sold?

Yes! Our consignors can watch their sales live from the website or the Rhea Lana App.

Can I bring a guest with me to consignor pre-sale?

Yes, you may bring one guest with you.

Why is RL’s better than having a garage sale or selling in the Facebook Marketplace?

It’s much less work than conducting your own garage sale and certainly safer and much easier than meeting strangers and selling items one at a time online.

I’m running short on time, which items should I enter first?

We frequently sell 95% of our baby equipment, furniture, and toys! This includes outdoor toys! They are in high demand and you can earn top dollar for them at Rhea Lana’s!

What do I write on my tags?

We encourage you to write the number that corresponds with your item entry on the tag. This will help you keep your items in order during the consignor process. There is no need to write any other information on the tag.

Do I need to assemble large items?

We require all items either come assembled or are assembled at consignor drop off.

What is the inventory sheet?

The inventory sheet is printable once you click ‘Finish Batch’, it is a print out of each item you’ve entered into the event and is required at consignor drop off in order for us to guarantee your items.

Do I have to find all my unsold items on Pick Up Day?

No, we will have everything neatly sorted for you by your consignor number.

What if I want to consign but am unable to make it on Pick Up Day?

If you are unable to pick up your own items you are allowed to notify us with whom has permission to pick up on your behalf. Please note, our guarantee is void for items when anyone other than the consignor picks up unsold items. Any items left past the designated pick up time will be given to donations as we are unable to hold any items in our rented space.

Where do the donated items go?

Our donated items go to local foster families and non-profit organizations in the community.

RL MANATEE CONSIGNOR ID INFORMATION

When you Register, the system assigns a consignor ID.

Please reuse this ID every sale
Each consignor may have between 35 and 300 items per consignor ID for this sale.

The participation for each consignor ID is $11

If you participate RL sales in addition to Manatee, you must have a separate ID number for each location.

Forgot your number? The system can help you recover it or email loriz@rhealana.com for assistance.

BATCHES & INVENTORY SHEETS

When you enter items, they are entered into a batch under your consignor ID.
When you are at a stopping point in your item entry, you can save the batch for later and return to entering at your convenience.
When you finish entering your items, click "Finish" and print your inventory sheet. It saves a lot of time at drop off if you have this printed at home. If you can not print, RLM will print one at drop off for $1 per batch.
CONSIGNOR TIP: The fewer batches you use, the easier it is at drop off and pick up.

TIP: STAYING ORGANIZED FOR FASTEST SERVICE

Prior to entering your items, separate them into sizes within gender and group like items together (ex. toys, books, games). Keep this order when you are tagging, entering and transporting the items to consignor drop off.
This is optional but makes inspection and check out quicker for the consignor.

TIP: SECURING SMALL PARTS AND PIECES

Use ziploc bags secured to larger toy with clear packing tape at drop off. This is important! We cannot be responsible for lost toy pieces so pleasee and secure them firmly.
Use sharpie and masking tape on the bottom or back to mark every ziploc bag and non-clothing item with your consignor ID and price.
This is required so in the event your barcode becomes separated from your item, we can locate the information and sell it for you.

CAN I STICK TAGS DIRECTLY ON BAGS INSTEAD OF USING STRING TAGS?

Please nooooooooooo. This causes difficulty with our operation processes. Each item is required to have a string tag attached with a barcode attached to it. Items with improperly placed (no string tag) barcodes are subject to up to $35 fee. We don't want to charge this. Use a string tag, we mean it!

TIP: DESCRIBING ITEMS

Please give each item a brief, unique description in our system.

Think, "If the tag fell off, would someone find the item?"

Ex. "Toy" is brief but not descriptive.

"Thomas small train" is both brief and descriptive.

Ex. "Shirt" if this item were missing, we could not locate it among the thousands of shirts we sell.

"MJ floral top, size 3T" or "Carters Snowman PJs" are easy to spot.

TIP: CLOTHING PREPARATION

The better they look, the better they sell. While you don't have to iron every item you sell, making sure they are fresh, straight on the hanger and wrinkle-free will make them attractive to shoppers.

SHOULD I BUNDLE?

We recommend bundling items & outfits (within the same size only) in infant and small sizes. Shoppers love to buy sets and outfits. Bundling and making infant clothing very reasonable will help you sell more and receive a larger check.
As clothing sizes get a bit larger you can sell separately, or bundle like items together (ex. a few T shirts or tanks together. Make outfits only when items were made to coordinate to maximize your sales)
Bundled items and outfits offered at the same price count as 1 (one) item in our system.
Items in bundles or outfits must always be the same size.

BABY EQUIPMENT & LARGE TOYS

Ensure it's clean & in working order, assembled with all chargers, working batteries, etc.

Check all baby equipment for recalls (it's easy)

If your item is recalled, the site will take you to the remedy. If you find your item was recalled, you may be able order a fix kit from the manufacturer and include with the item. If you have installed a prior recall fix, please bring evidence or note it on the item so we can verify.

BARCODE OPTIONS

RL's system produces barcode labels based on what you entered into our system in order to keep careful track of your items.

Once your batch is "finished" our system prepares your barcodes.

There are three ways to get your barcodes:

OPTION 1 - RL of Manatee is happy to print your barcodes and have you affix them at drop off. Plan for additional time at drop off if you choose this option. This is a good option if you are new with us or if you simply prefer to work on it in the store.

OPTION 2 - EXPERIENCED CONSIGNORS - Print your barcode labels at home using a COLOR PRINTER. Follow the directions CAREFULLY that appear on the "enter items" page after you enter your number and password. Label your items at home.
Properly labeled items arranged in the order they appear on inventory sheet with the inventory sheet and blank label pages included (yes, we know that's strange but we need them) will still receive the item guarantee at consignor drop off. All others can be labeled at home but must waive the guarantee.

OPTION 3 - If time permits, approx. 1 week before the sale (watch posts on social media and emails for dates TBA), labels can be picked up from a central location and affixed at home.

Bring Pre-labeled items with the inventory sheet and blank label pages to Drop Off Days. You will sign a Release of Guarantee form unless all instructions are followed carefully. **This option is only available if advertised for that particular event."
